China is opening its doors even wider to the world.
During his just-concluded visits to New Zealand and Australia, Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced that China will include these two Oceanian nations in its list of unilateral visa-free countries. This means that New Zealand and Australian passport holders will be able to enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit, for up to 15 days.
Additionally, China and Australia have jointly declared that to promote business exchanges, encourage tourism, and facilitate family reunions, they will offer each other's citizens multiple-entry visas valid for three to five years.
In an exclusive interview with an SFC reporter, Helen Sawczak, the New South Wales Government's Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for Greater China, also shared her insights on the friendly relationship between China and Australia. Sawczak highlighted the long-standing and dynamic partnership between New South Wales and Guangdong, underscoring the numerous opportunities for investment and collaboration in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and medtech. She emphasized the significance of the sister-state relationship, which has been thriving since 1979 and continues to grow stronger each year, with both governments actively working to enhance economic and cultural ties.
